  • Respectful in our relationships
  • Above & beyond in our efforts
  • Fun & positivity
  • Trust & integrity
  • Supporting each other because together we are better as on team

Membership of the Paper Plus Group brings with it a number of benefits including:

  • Brand recognition
  • Negotiated preferential purchasing arrangements from key suppliers
  • A fully functioning category management team working for the benefit of the members
  • Centralised billing of accounts
  • High profile marketing campaigns
  • Operational and business support and advice
  • Group negotiated savings in key areas of business operation

There are three ways you can become a member of the Paper Plus Group

  • Purchase a Paper Plus Group store from an existing member
  • Bring your existing book and stationery business into the Paper Plus Group
  • Establish a new Paper Plus Group store at a site approved by us

As a co-operative franchise - membership and shareholding is a privilege so in all of these cases you must first satisfy the Board of Paper Plus that you have the required skills and are suitable to become a member of our Group.

Many franchise opportunities have fixed term contracts associated with them; not so at Paper Plus Group. As a new Paper Plus Group member you will enter into an open ended Franchise contract that will only terminate when you leave our Group.

I've been with the Marketing Department of the Paper Plus Group for 15 months, and am loving the challenges every day brings. Whether it's turning around a national campaign, working with our loyalty partners or welcoming new franchisees into the group with an opening campaign, each department within Support Office works together to provide the very best outcomes for our member stores. It's like being part of a huge, nationwide family. Some members have been with us for decades, and that's testament to the passion our members have for the business, and I enjoy being part of the team that helps bring this to life. We are committed as a business to helping people live bigger lives every day - what a great value to live by.
Shannon Bruce, Assistant Category Manager - Business Equipment & Consumables

I started with the Paper plus group fresh out of university. The amount of knowledge and skill I have developed in my time here, gives me a lot of confidence for the rest of my career. No day is ever the same, which is very exciting. My key responsibilities are planning, executing and reviewing promotions. My team have become my family, these are relationships I wish to keep for life. I find it both motivating and rewarding being involved in a company that invests in their staff. Over the last few years, I have learnt valuable Excel, Outlook and Personal development skills that have had a major impact on not only my work, but my personal life too. The company holds strong values which are in line with the type of person I see myself as. In summary, Paper plus is a great place to work, staff members feel valued, encouraged and motivated - all elements needed to live bigger lives!
Reshma Vallabh, Category Manager - Stationery and Business Equipment & Consumables
Joined the group: August 2012
I first joined Paper Plus Group as an assistant to the Category Manager for Stationery. I have now become the Category Manager for both Stationery and Business Equipment & Consumables. With constant challenges and opportunities, the business has fostered my development in this role. We have a small Support Office team which allows us to learn new skills from working alongside different departments such as Marketing and Finance. As this is a co-operative franchise business, relationships are key with both Members and Suppliers as this forms a family environment. The company holds strong values that enable me to have a clear strategic view for my categories, and align with my personal values. Paper Plus is a great place to work as it has a strong foundation of trust and respect that ensures team members feel valued and encouraged to further develop within their role.
Theresa McCorkindale, Operations Administrator
Joined the group: January 2004
I first started with the Paper Plus Group 13 years ago working in store, and with some breaks and location changes over the years, am now part of the Operations team at Support Office. I really enjoy the challenges that my role brings, and the fact it allows me to work closely with both the members, and the team at Support Office. When a new member joins, they are often told that they are in business for themselves, not by themselves, and I think that this is absolutely true. There is always someone there to help, and I love being part of a group that supports each other and works together.
Miguel Rey, IT Retail Systems Specialist
Joined the group: May 2008
I have been involved directly and indirectly with Paper Plus for over 10 years. I was working for the software company Advanced Retail and was involved in the roll out of their POS system through every Paper Plus store in New Zealand. As a result of that experience I came to work for Paper Plus Group in their IT team, and am now heavily involved in the support and implementation of IT systems across the wider Paper Plus sphere. It is always a lot of fun and enjoyment working for the people that are involved in Paper Plus, and I have through the course of the years sparked up some very close relationships with our members and owners. I feel like our unique environment is more like a family than a business, and I value the chance to help/talk/discuss issues with everyone from the CEO through to the shop worker serving at the till, there is no job too big or too small.
